With all these kids around me heading off to school... I felt disappointed... like Tristan is going to miss out on stuff. I know homeschooling is what's going to be best for Tristan. And who knows, we might put him in public school down the road (maybe high school)... but I'm glad he gets to go to school. Even if it's just one day a week.
Our friends have had their kids in Friday School for as long as I have known them. They have always homeschooled and their oldest just graduated. The husband in the couple, works with Kaleb. He recommended bringing Tristan by last year, just to try it out for a day. We never got around to it... And he's been on Kaleb's side to homeschool this whole time too. Nothing like feeling ganged up on.
Anyway...
Friday School is a Christian homeschool co-op that meets on Fridays - hence why it's called Friday School. They provide engaging classes for kids (Nursery -12th) and great fellowship for moms!!
It's not a drop off program... the parents have to stay on campus and volunteer somewhere. It's from about 8:30-noon.
It will give me a little break.. even though I will need to stay there and probably help in a class... But at least Tristan will get some socialization with other kids. I know going in that he's not going to learn anything academically (he's in pre-k and way beyond shapes and colors)... but I'm hoping he gets some good interaction with kids and can learn some more boundaries and what's appropriate behavior...
So, yeah... summer is over and lots going on now! Especially now that he's older and is going to be involved in a bunch of stuff. And so it begins. lol
