Climbing The Bookcase

Tristan has been wanting to climb since he learned how to walk.  He definitely has the strength for it!  He can pull himself up with no assistance from his feet.  I didn't get a picture, but he grabbed the dinning room table and was trying to do a chin up with his little feet danglin!
If I'm sitting on the couch, he can reach up and grab my shirt and get himself up onto the couch.... He's gettin so big!

Sleep Update: Night 5-
Tristan cried less than a minute! For his nap, he still cried about 5 minutes. But it's gettin better :)

Amber Necklace

Tristan got his Amber necklace in the mail yesterday.  I ordered it from Inspired By Finn.

From their website:

The Box

Tristan has a box that he plays with a lot. Kaleb put him in the box tonight- and pulled and pushed him around in it. Tristan thought it was a lot of fun.
At one point, Kaleb and I were pushing him back and forth between the two of us; like playing catch with Tristan lol

If you notice- Tristan has a necklace now. I'm going to make an entry about it tomorrow :)

Sleep Update: Night 4-
Tristan cried less than 2 minutes tonight and went to sleep! And his nap was about 4 minutes. yay! :)

Playing Guitar

Another pic of Tristan holding his bottle up like a champ!  He knows he has to pick it up and tilt his head when sitting or standing now.  He can't quite drink his whole bottle sitting up yet - I think he gets tired of holding it lol

Kaleb has been working on a couple songs to perform at open mic at the Common Ground.  Tristan wants to help... and does this by using the guitar as a drum and hitting the strings lol

Sleep Update:  Night 3-
Well, Tristan cried for less than 10 minutes this time.  So, I think we are making progress.  And his nap today was good too.  Not too much crying at all.

Bedtime Routine

We started a bedtime routine for Tristan last night.

What we have been doing:
Tristan has slept through the night since he was 4.5 weeks old.  He would have his bottle and go to sleep.  We then started feeding him his bottle in his crib because he would go STRAIGHT to sleep.  Up until recently, this has been working.  But he started finishing his bottle then standing up and crying... Then I would rock him to sleep.  That worked for a while.
But lately, I would rock him to sleep... then as soon as he touched his crib he would cry and be awake.  Something had to change!

What we are doing now:
We get him in his jammies.  He has his bedtime bottle in the living room like he usually does.  Then we go to his room, turn on his white noise and read Goodnight Moon.  After the book, I kiss and hug him goodnight and lay him in his crib.  I walk out of the room and close the door all but a tiny crack.

Last night he cried for 10 minutes then was awake moving around for 5 minutes, then was asleep.

We started a nap routine too:
Start his white noise, sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, then lay him in his crib and walk out.

Today he cried for about 7 minutes at nap time before he fell asleep.  And Beth watched him tonight and said that he cried for about 10 minutes again tonight before going to bed.


The pic is of him playing with one of the play mice for the cats.  He loves to rattle them.
